MOBILE PHONES & CHARGES

 

Members are reminded that the Secretary is collecting used Mobile Phones

 and Chargers for donation to DV Safe for people fleeing domestic 

violence situations so please round up any old phones you may have!

 

Collection bins have been placed in the Bendigo Bank Branches in 

Koo Wee Rup and Lang Lang

Meeting Opened 1900 hrs at Lang Lang Bowls Club.

Past President Hayden Giles opened the meeting and welcomed all along.

Family of Rotary

  • Rudy de Jong is still in hospital after a fall and breaking his neck.  

Secretary

  • Correspondence was tabled and highlights read out.
     
  • Discussion regarding Support for Heidelberg Rotary E-Mail to host a meeting with the RSL and the guest speaker.
     
  • Discussion was had about reintroducing the Pride of Workmanship Awards and partnering with Bendigo Bank and Lang Lang and Koo Wee Rup Township Associations.

Treasurers Report:

  • Grant for Carols approved and received from Cardinia Shire Council.

General Business

  • Jan advised that Cr Trudi Paton contacted him regarding the horse statue signage.  Rotary is to contribute $1500 towards the project.
     
  • Jan also requested that we ensure Rotary is included in signage at the School Wall project.
     
  • Landcare BBQ on Sunday went well  Thanks to Rob and Michele for arranging.
     
  • Discussion was had regarding the roller door at the shed at Cadermeade. Dean Turner to get his contact to do the work ASAP so that the BBQ Trailer can be securely stored.
     
  • Upcoming BBQ’s.  
    Lang Lang Cricket Club – Sunday 30th August.
    Fathers Day Breakfasts –
    • Lang Lang Primary School Thursday 3rd September.
      Koo Wee Rup Primary School Friday 4th September.
